FLASHIN FIRE

Racing on Halloween, Flashin Fire scared up an impressive double in New Mexico, as his rookie campaign nears its conclusion.
The two-year-old gelding tallied his second
stakes victory of the season, prevailing in the $300,940 New Mexico Classic Futurity-RG2, held Oct. 31 at Zia Park.
Owned by Josefina Guzman, two-year-old sorrel gelding Flashin Fire reached the winner’s circle for the fourth time in six outs—with all four wins coming consecutively.
Flashin Fire began his win streak on July 16 at Ruidoso Downs, winning his trial for the Zia Futurity with the fastest qualifying time. He came back 15 days later to win that Grade 1 stakes.
Next he won his New Mexico Classic Futurity trial heat, covering the 350 yards in :17.939 to top the qualifying ladder.
That winning streak of successes made Flashin Fire the strong betting favorite for this futurity, going off at post time at nearly even- money odds.
