SW Juvenile Invit. Champ.-G2
MUY PELIGROSITO
by John Moorehouse
It was muy bueno once again for Muy Peligrosito. The rookie gelding captured his second consecutive stakes win, this time taking the 440-yard $100,000
Southwest Juvenile Invitational Championship-G2 held Dec. 5 at Zia Park.
Abelardo Gallegos owns Muy Peligrosito, who holds three wins in four lifetime starts. The two-year-old gelding entered this event coming off a three-month layoff following a victory in the All American Juvenile at Ruidoso, which he won as a 13-1 longshot. There was no such surprise at the betting window for this race—Muy Peligrosito was the overwhelming post-time favorite this time at 3-5 odds.
The gelding broke well from the No. 8 gate and swiftly moved into the lead by a head as he hit the first call. Muy Peligrosito widened the gap to a 1/2-length going into the stretch, then doubled his advantage during the final yards to hit the wire boasting a 1-length lead to secure his third consecutive victory. Adrian Ramos was aboard for the trip, which was completed in :22.038 for a 90 speed index while running into an 11 mph headwind. The $56,400 winner’s prize improved his overall earnings to $145,200. Darling Farms and Jaime Gomez bred Muy Peligrosito in Mexico out of Peligrosita, a lightly-raced 2014 mare.
Classy Moon (First Moonflash-Shez Classy Now) was 2nd under Mario Delgado for Sissie & Bob McClure and trainer Fred Danley. HS Golden Eagle (Osbaldo- Catchtherain TB), winner of the New Mexico State Fair Futurity-RG3 earlier this year, finished 3rd in this one. Alfredo Gomez is the trainer and Ricky Ramirez was aboard. Followed by LS Jacks Back (Corona Cartel-PJ Chick In Black), Cowboy Zulu (Zulu Dragon-First Cowgirl Flash), Apolinaria Prize (Fast Prize Cartel-SS Calendar Girl), Holland Rock, Jess Ring The Bell (Jess A Chicks-First Tinkerbell), Strong Soul (A Revenant- Mighty Shazoom) & Bad Kompany (Jesse James Jr-Ofashionsoutherngirl). B The One scratched.
James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2
APOLLITICAL PAPA
by Michael Cusortelli
Making his first start in more than four months, Apollitical Papa parlayed a sharp break from post 5 into a wire-to-wire victory in the $50,000
James Isaac Hobbs Stakes-G2 at Zia Park on Nov. 7. Apollitical Papa went 350 yards in :17.407 while racing against a reported 6-mph head wind, and his
winning margin was 1 1/4 lengths from odds-on favorite Midday News. Noe Garcia Jr. rode the homebred 4-year- old son of 2011 World Champion Apollitical Jess for owners Bob and Sissie McClure and trainer Fred Danley.

His 2021 season resume includes a second- place finish in the 300-yard Bob Moore Memorial Stakes-G2 at Remington Park on April 17.
Apollitical Papa was bred in Oklahoma, and he was coming off of a 4th-place finish in a 350-yard $19,400 open-condition allowance dash at Ruidoso Downs
on June 27. The bay gelding is out of Sissys Tres Girl,
a homebred winning 11-year-old daughter of 2001 Champion 2-Year-Old Colt Tres Seis.
Runner-up Midday News (FDD Dynasty-Summer Love Song) earned $10,000 for owners Linda Joiner, Pat Smith, Izora Southway, Holly King, and Kelly Allen. A $28,000 purchase at the 2017 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, the 5-year-old gelding was ridden by Jose Amador Alvarez for trainer Mike Joiner.
Mitey Political (Apollitical Jess-Mitey Moon) finished third for owners Charlie and Dixie Patterson. Sergio Dominguez rode the 5-year-old gelding for trainer Donna McArthur.

KJ Frankie B was bred in Arizona by John Lee and Kathy Lee, and he was stretching out in distance off of his neck victory in a 350- yard $40,000 allowance dash on Oct. 24.
The sorrel gelding is out of Xquizit, a winning daughter of the Corona Cartel stallion Ivory James. Raced in two states, including Texas, KJ Frankie B has won five of 19 starts, and the $30,000 winner’s share of this purse pushed his bankroll to $163,440. A 39-1 longshot, Flying Afar (Stel Corona-Jetsetter) finished third, a half of a length behind KJ Frankie B, and banked $5,000 for his owner, Gerardo Arroyo. Hector Aldrete rode the 5-year-old gelding for
