Crater Lake Handicap
CM ONCE INA BLUEMOON

Cm Once Ina Bluemoon has won his last five of six races, his latest being the Crater Lake Handicap. The race is a 600-yard stakes event hosted by Grants
Pass Downs and it carried a total purse worth $18,200. The gelding stepped away in second from the three
post and the outcome was never in doubt. At the first call, he was a length in front and by the halfway point he had a 2-lengths margin.
Jockey James Wooten Jr. was sitting quiet as a shadow on his mount, and they crossed the line 1 3/4-lengths to the good, stopping the timer in :30.528 for a 107 speed index. The bay gelding also earned the $9,050 winner’s share.
The old timers would say he makes money the hard way. CM Once Ina Bluemoon’s race record stands at 18 wins from 42 starts. His lifetime earnings have now reached $149,293. The gelding won the 2021 Emerald Downs Championship Challenge and the 2019 and 2020 versions of the Emerald Downs Distance Challenge.
CM Once Ina Bluemoon’s team includes owner Chris A. Sutton and trainer Nick Lowe.
He was bred in Oregon by Randy Dickerson out of the mare Cool Blue Corona, an ROM earner with five foals. CM Once Ina Bluemoon is her best product.
Wildfires Phantom 2 (Wagon Tales-Oklahoma Rain TB) ran a game second. Connections include owners Marie White and Robert White. Diego Guerrero was in charge of the conditioning, and jockey Alex Anaya was in the saddle.
Chicks Fast Farley (Chicks N Honey-Cpr First Time) ran a steady and even race to finish in third place under jockey Jose Guerrero. Chicks Fast Farley is owned and trained by Diego Guerrero.
The remaining order of finish was Hes A Bugin (Sixthirteen TB-Missy Nickle Bac), Romanian (Fly Chisolm Fly-Watch My Six TB), Wave To Glory (Wave Carver-My Crowning Glory).
The Memorial Handicap

It’s been over a year since Dahock visited the winner’s circle, but he made it count in The Memorial Handicap, a 350-yard stakes that carried a total purse
worth $20,400 held at Grants Pass on Nov. 7. Dahock sprinted away from the number four
post and was in front by a head at the first call. Jockey Luis Gonzalez provided plenty of hustle and encouragement; they were 1/2-length in front at the midway point, and crossed the line with a head margin to stop the clock at :18.164.
The gelded son of Zoomin For Bux earned the first place check worth $10,000, taking his lifetime earnings to $26,875, and his race record stands at two wins out of nine career starts. Prior to winning his first stakes in The Memorial, Dahock was third in the Autumn Derby on Oct. 11.
His team includes owner Malon L. Cowgill and trainer Benito Curiel. Bred in Oregon by Cowgill, Dahock is out of the mare Lanty Bug. She has produced eight foals and stakes winner RR Red Rocket is her top earner.
Miss Fancy Alleia (Ima Fancy Pyc-Count Alleia) ran a steady and even race to take second. She is owned and trained by Emilio Guerrero. Jose Figueroa was in the saddle.
Louisana Bunny (Louisiana Senator-My Best Bunny Yet) took a hard bump at the break, but she overcame adversity to finish in third. Connections include owner The Estate of Lee Markholt and trainer Nick Lowe. Alex Anaya was in the irons.

Miss Roxie Little Consolation
KEENS BLOOD LEGACY

The Miss Roxie Little Futurity Consolation is considered a stakes race, and Keens Blood Legacy was the wire-to-wire winner of the $30,000 event on Oct. 28.
A bay gelding, Keens Blood Legacy did not quality to the main event, finishing fourth in his Oct. 9 trial heat. But, he made this race count as he scored his first stakes victory. Breaking on top from the six-gate, Keens Blood Legacy was in front by a slim neck at the first all, holding that margin through to the finish line as he crossed the wire in :18.137 for an 84 speed index.
The $16,500 winner’s share of the purse takes
his bank account to $30,834. His record is now two wins from five starts - all at Indiana Grand Race Course. His other win came in his first out on July 28 in a 350-yard maiden event, where he scored by a nose. He then finished fifth in his trial to the Leader of the Class Sale Futurity, qualifying to the $108,800 finals in which he also finished in fifth place.
Keens Blood Legacy is owned by Connie Black and is trained by Erin Thompson. Jockey Jose Ruiz was aboard for this trip. Bred in Indiana by James Ray Black, Keens Blood Legacy is by Champion Apollitical Blood and out of Keen Liaison, a five- time winner who in 2017 won the Sterlie Bertram Memorial Stakes and the Harley Greene Derby.
Bye Bye B Train (Freighttrain B-Bye Bye Corona) was 2nd under Luz Martinez for Pamela Brickley Hann & trainer Anthony Cunningham. Jesses Beach (Escondido Beach-Jess Alive Bully) was 3rd under Edgar Diaz for trainer Tim Eggleston and owners Brian Langworthy & Peggy Geruszka-Lehman. Followed by Bella Victoria P (Corona Cartel-Bdeez Courage), Nachor Favorite (Habits Secret-Eyes A Favorite), Zooming For Hope (Jess Zoomin-Hope For Me Too), Knockout Swing (My Royal Wagon-Game Swinger), Zommin Annie (Jess Zoomin-Teller Sweet Nothins) & Fast N Fancy Stone (Brimmstone-FM Future Dreams). Delreys Wagon was scratched.
