REVENANT MOON

When Revenant Moon was a baby, she loved to sleep, so much so that she sometimes got cranky when awakened. These days she is much more active, as she proved with a smart victory in the $477,200 Oklahoma Futurity-G2 at Remington Park on March 20.
Norma Alvarez, who bred Revenant Moon in New Mexico with her husband, Dosi, well remembers Revenant Moon as a young filly.
“I’d go in to get her up, and she didn’t want to,” said Norma. “She was very stubborn. She’d try to ignore me and just lie there. When she got up, she ran us out of the pen. She was mad. I’ve never seen a little baby do that. It became kind of a joke—don’t wake her up.”
The Alvarezes in the name of their Lazy A Farm sold Revenant Moon as a yearling in Oklahoma when the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale was moved to Oklahoma due to the pandemic. Revenant Moon brought $20,000 from a group of Texas owners.
