NOTHIN LIKE YOU

Trainer John Hammes knows about as much about Nothin Like You’s family as anybody. This is the fifth generation that he has trained, and all five generations have black type. Nothin Like You, owned by Bradbury Racing, got his first stakes victory in the $222,440 Valley Junction Futurity-G3 at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 24.
Nothin Like You broke his maiden in his racing debut at Remington Park and has since competed solely at Prairie Meadows. Prior to the Valley Junction trials, he ran second and fourth in two trials and third in the Prairie Meadows Juvenile Challenge.
“After he broke his maiden at Remington, he just kind of ran some mediocre races,” said Hammes. “In his last two races he kind of came back to what I thought he was early in the spring.”
With Stormy Smith aboard, Nothin Like You qualified the second fastest with a neck
