                 Trained by Dee Keener, Dreamsville collected the $108,214 winner’s share of the lucrative purse, raising his lifetime bankroll to $232,781. The win improved his overall record to 11-4-2-3, and a possible next target for the chestnut gelding is the Heritage Place Derby. Dreamsville has registered all three of his wins this season at Remington Park.
“I’m really excited about this horse,” Keener said. “He’s really coming into himself.”
Dreamsville is owned by 95-year-old Elizabeth Logan of Haskell, Oklahoma, who also owned the winner of the Oklahoma Futurity earlier in the meet.
“Pretty cool for an old lady,” Logan told the media in the winner’s circle after her Derby victory. “We did win that futurity with Tres Crystals, so...”
Bred in Oklahoma by JG Kelly, JL Yother and Nancy Yearsley, Dreamsville is produced from the Tres Seis mare Answer the Dream. Dreamsville was a $40,000 graduate of the Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale in 2020.
Runner-up Just A Kool Boy (Favorite Cartel- Just Eagle) chased the winner home under Jimmy Brooks. It was the first black type for the sorrel colt and 3-time winner who is owned by Adina Baker and trained by Eddie Willis. Just A Kool Boy finished 4th in the last year’s Golden State Million Futurity-G1 at Los Alamitos after winning two of his first three lifetime starts. He was bred in Oklahoma by Garrett Baker.
Pevs Charley (One Fabulous Eagle-Miss Okey Dokey Zevi) and jockey Cristian Esqueda rallied in the late stages to finish 3rd. Owned by Regina Laymon and conditioned by Jerry
Livingston, the bay gelding has now hit the board in a trio of graded races, having also finished 2nd in the FL Lady Bug Stakes-RG3 and the Laico Bird Stakes-G3 last year. A winner of his trial dash on April 3, Pevs Charley was bred in Oklahoma by Gordon Pevehouse.
