Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Derby-RG2
DREAMSVILLE
by Michael Compton
Dreamsville remained unbeaten in three starts this season with an impressive gate- to-wire score in the $270,535 Remington Park
Oklahoma-Bred Derby-RG2 on April 16. Ridden by Jesus Salazar, Dreamsville, who started on the far outside in position
10, broke alertly and grabbed the lead at the start. He dueled early with race favorite Just A Kool Boy before edging clear of that one
in the lane. In a powerful wire-to-wire effort, Dreamsville drew away late and defeated Just A Kool Boy by 1-length at the finish. Pevs Charley rallied late to secure the show spot. Sent off at odds of 5-1, Dreamsville stopped the timer in a brisk :19.460, good for a 98 speed index. The final clocking was just ticks away from Louisiana Senator’s track record of :19.101 established in 2011.
“He made it look super easy tonight,” said Salazar. “He gives his all every time. Today was even better than he’s been. He won so easily.”
