Bye Corona Bye is off to a perfect start in his racing career. After winning his March 11 trial and posting the second-quickest qualifying
time for the West Texas Futurity-G2, the rookie colt came back to win the $217,250 stakes final on April 3 at Sunland Park.
Drawing the No. 3 gate, Bye Corona
Bye broke on top and opened up a 1-length advantage by the time he entered the stretch. Bye Corona Bye continued to separate himself during the final yards, finishing the 300yards on top by 1 1/4-lengths in :14.951 for a 107 speed index.
Juan Pulido has ridden Bye Corona Bye in both of his outs to date. Bye Corona Bye and top qualifier Wirth The Wait had co-favorite status at post time.
