William Reeder bred the stakes-winning colt out of Bye N Pearls, a 2005 mare who made 28 outs during her own competitive career. Bye Corona Bye was a $22,000 graduate of the TQHA Yearling Sale. His family tree includes former All American Gold Cup-G1 winner DM Streakin Thru Fire and Texas Classic Derby-G1 winner Sashay N Six.
Josue Ponce also trains Blood N Pepper (Apollitical Blood-Poise N Pepper), who made a game run for second place. The colt is owned by Almada Racing. Mario Delgado had the riding assignment.
KJ Bootscootin Jess (Apollitical Jess- Xquizit) hit the board in third. John Lee, Kathy Lee and Ruben Mares own the colt, a Wesley Giles trainee who had Adrian Ramos aboard.
