SW Juvenile Championship-G2
JES AN ANGEL

Noe Garcia Jr. rode Jes An Angel to a 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Southwest Juvenile Championship Invitational Stakes-G2 at Zia Park

Moore, Brad Williams, and Don Forbes, and racing against a reported 10-mph head wind, Jes An Angel covered her quarter-mile trip in :21.655, earning a 99 speed index while banking the $60,000 winner’s share of the purse.
The filly has now won seven of 11 races, including three stakes victories, and she has earned $319,296. Her stakes victories include her previous out in the Black Gold Fillies Futurity on Nov. 15 and the Old South Futurity on May 21.
Jes An Angel was bred in Texas by Jerry Windham, a longtime breeder who was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2006, and she was purchased by Lance Moore for $10,000 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The filly is out of Ms Kates Angel, a homebred winning mare. Jes An Angel is her only starter from three foals.
San Lorenzo Ivory (Ivory James-Ashleys Gold Digger) finished second and pocketed the $20,000 runner-up share of the purse for his owner Rogelio Marquez Jr. and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. Juan Pulido piloted the gelding.
Newman Cattle Company’s Jessa Beast (Mr Jess Perry-Famous Corona Lady) ran third, 1 1/4 lengths behind Jes An Angel, under jockey Oscar Andrade Jr. Trey Wood trains the colt.
Beneficial (Favorite Cartel-Bemused) ran fourth and was followed by Ms Flaming Finish (Mr Jess Perry-Flaming Chula), KJ Wicked Wanda (Apollitical Spirit-KJ Hotflash), Everythingyouneed (Jet Black Patriot-Rogue To Riches), Good Knight Country (Rock Solid Jess-Country Mans Chick), and Meet Me Out Back (Dominyun-Dianetogetcha).

JET BLACK GRACE

Seven wins out of eight starts is an impressive record, and it came against some of the best in the business. Jet Black Grace, graced the winner’s circle with his presence after the running of the $75,000 Lovington Stakes hosted by Zia Park on Dec. 11.
The gelding broke from the 7-post carrying jockey Juan Pulido. Juan let his mount gather himself then he went to work. They had ground
to make up, at the halfway point they were still
in third. Showing grit, they finished a 1/2-length
to the good, stopping the timer at 19.301. The gelding earned a speed index of 103 and the $44,100 winner’s share of the purse. That ups his total earnings to $718,227.
His team includes owner Zitro Racing Corp. and trainer Santos Carrizales Jr. Bred in Texas by Fulton Quien Sabe Ranches LP, he is out of graded stakes winner Thrill And Grace. She won the ’07 Harrah’s Entertainment Derby-G2 and made
over $142,000 during her racing career. She has produced 12 winners from 18 starters with earnings of $1,272,016.

Pop Pop) came from behind to pocket the $14,700 second place check for owner Ruse Ranch LLC
and trainer Jason L. Driver. Adrian Ramos was handling the reins.
Heza Party Wagon (Hes Relentless-Lil Miss Party Doll) had the lead for the first half. He hung on to finish third for owner Juan Manuel Baeza and trainer Juan M Baeza. Christian Ramos was in the irons. The field finished like this Warning (Tempting Dash-Brenda Beautiful), Ferarri Tyme (Freighttrain B-Ferarri Fast Prize), Vamoosing (Separate Interest- Escape The Fire), Valiant Stars (Valiant Hero-Cluster Of Stars TB), Mitey Political (Apollitical Jess-Mitey Moon), Valentino Pete (Hes Relentless-Mystical Eye), Won Famous Dash (Giorgino-Lil Famous Dash).
NM Classic 870 Champ.-RG3
FREEDOM FLASH

Freedom Flash ran to his name with a dominating victory in the New Mexico Classic 870 Championship-RG3 at Zia Park on Oct. 30.
Breaking from the 8-post under jockey Alfredo Sigala, Freedom Flash raced in fourth in the early stages and engaged with the early leaders before heading for the home stretch. In a flash, he got up to score by 1 1/2-lengths at the finish. Freedom Flash stopped the timer in :44.818, good for a speed index of 106.
The $73,800 winner’s share of the purse increased his career bankroll to $342,301 for owners Jean Pierre and Leslie Amestoy and Roger Beasley and trainer Todd Fincher. This was the second stakes victory of his career. He annexed the 2019 New Mexico Classic Derby-G2 and also was third in this year’s running’s of the Bill Reed Memorial Stakes and Zia 870 Championship Stakes.
Freedom Flash was bred in New Mexico by his owners out of the Thoroughbred winning mare Mi Camila. She has produced 100% winners from her six starters, with three stakes winners and one stakes placed with earnings of $1,143,592.
Runner-up Roll Big River (Rock Solid Jess-Fabulous Brook) showed the way early under jockey Noe Garcia Jr., but could not match strides with the winner in the late stages. The four-time winner is owned by Twin Spires Farm and is trained by Jackie Riddle.
Third-place finisher Rosies Bolt (Genuine Strawfly- Independent Princess), piloted by Jose Vazquez, pressed the pace early and held third for owner Ken Eklund and trainer Robert Gheradi, who also bred the gray gelding in New Mexico. It was Rosies Bolts stakes debut.
Why Buy The Cow (Heza Motor Scooter- Southwest Treasure), Cartels Joker (Send Me Cartel-Ko Jo Ki), Moonflash Cat (First Moonflash- Domeintchy TB), Mr Big (Big Daddy Cartel-Sixy Streak), and Noreason Fordiamonds (Rances Reason- Cartier N Capris) completed the order of finish. Bigg Jack and Moon Gunner were scratched.
