SAN LORENZO IVORY

San Lorenzo Ivory scored the second stakes win of his career and ran his current win streak to three with a facile, front-running victory in the $63,640 Texas Classic Juvenile at Lone Star Park on Nov. 19.
With jockey Juan Pulido in the irons, San Lorenzo Ivory, the race favorite in the field of nine, grabbed
the lead away from the starting gate and dueled early with Relentless Pressure. In a strong performance,
San Lorenzo Ivory edged clear late to defeat Relentless Pressure by 3/4-lengths at the finish, stopping the timer in :19.635. The final clocking earned a speed index of 97. The $28,320 winner’s share of the purse increased his overall bankroll to $357,241.
Owned by Rogelio Marquez Jr. and trained by Santos Carrizales Jr., San Lorenzo Ivory improved his record to 8-5-3-0. In addition to the Texas Classic Juvenile, he also annexed this year’s Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity-G1 on April 16 and finished second in the Easy Jet Stakes on May 28.
Bred in Oklahoma by Charlotte and Brett Northam, the gelding out of winner Ashleys Gold Digger. She has produced 100% winners from her eight starters including two Grade 1 stakes winners.
Runner-up Relentless Pressure (Hes Relentless-Jess A Classy Lassy) was clearly second-best under jockey Rodrigo Vallejo. Relentless Pressure is owned by his breeder, Ted Abrams, and is trained by M. Taylor.
KJ Wicked Wanda (Apollitical Spirit-KJ Hotflash) rallied late for third under jockey Adrian Ramos. Owned by John Lee, Kathy Lee, and Ruben Mares and is trained by Wesley Giles.
Sweet Emylou (FDD Dynasty-Imaqtpie), Sir Rodney C (Hes Relentless-Wagon Cruzer), Tyger King (Apollitical Jess-Cruzin the Wagon), JMG Apollitical Capo (Capo de Capi-Gold Ounce), Tres Crystals (Tres Seis-Crystal Sola), and Big Dream Baby (Apollitical Jess-Kates Dynasty) completed the order of finish. Dakota Gurl was scratched.
Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes

Sent to post as the 3-5 favorite in a field of
six state-bred distaffers, Edgar Rosales’
SS Classyjess responded with a convincing 2 1/2-length victory in the $56,000 Yellow Rose of Texas Stakes at Lone Star Park on Nov. 19.
SS Classyjess came out of the gate in second but quickly took command and just kept gaining distance between the other horses in the field. Finishing 2 1/2-lenths in front, she covered the 400 yards in :19.651 while earning a 96 speed index. Luis Vivanco rode the 6-year-old mare for trainer Jose Carrizales. The $36,960 winner’s share of the purse bumped her earnings to $545,684.
SS Classyjess’ season resume includes the Miss Retama Stakes and the Gillespie County Fair Sprint Championship. She also placed second in the Evangeline Downs Dash Stakes, and third in the Selma Stakes. Raced in three states, including Louisiana. The mare has won 25 of 50 outs, including 13 stakes victories. She has won this race the last three consecutive years in a row.
She was bred by Ronnie Stewart and Double
S Farm and is out of the lightly raced mare High Class Broad, who has produced four winners from six starters with earnings of $591,780.
Best Moonflash (First Moonflash-Thebest Isyet Tocome) ran second under jockey Francisco Calderon while pocketing the $8,960 runner-up share of the purse for her owner Garlyn O. Shelton and trainer Jose Guadalupe Cruz.
Cesar Rosales’ Jess A Dashin Angela (Dash Master Jess-Mi Angela) finished third, 3-lengths behind SS Classyjess. Trainer Rolando Almanza had jockey Ricardo Garza-Cruz in the irons.
Zsuzannah (Hez Fast As Cash-Jess Go), Foxy Hocks (Kiss My Hocks-The Little Mermaid), and Lethal White Veil (Lethal Corona-Lil Famous Dash) completed the order of finish.
Devil His Due Stakes

ODonovan Rossa gave an overpowering performance to win the $50,000 Devil His Due Stakes at Lone Star Park on Nov. 26.
Ridden by Bryan Candanosa, O Donovan Rossa raced in third early in the 870-yard marathon. He chased the leaders around the turn and collared pacesetter and race favorite Shockingly Famous. He had a late surge at the end and managed to score a
1 1/4-length victory, stopping the timer in :45.298. The final clocking earned a speed index of 102. The $30,000 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $159,290.
Trained by Dee Keener, O Donovan Rossa improved his record to 25-7-4-3 for owners Lloyd Yother and J. Garvan Kelly, who bred the gelding. Among his seven wins is the Walter Merrick Stakes and the SLM Big Daddy Stakes-G3 earlier this season.
Bred in Oklahoma, he is out of the multiple stakes winning and stakes placed mare Shanachee, who earned $124,478 in her racing career. She has
produced 12 winners from 16 starters with earnings
of $1,439,694. O Donovan Rossa is a full brother to Party Politics, winner of the 2022 Golden State Million Futurity-G1 and Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1.
Heza Classy Now (Rock Solid Jess-Shez Classy Now) and jockey Benito Baca rallied willingly in the stretch and finished a clear second for owners Bob and Sissie McClure and trainer Toby Keeton. He won the Bill Reed Memorial Stakes on Sept. 3.
Ghost Bear (Phantom Menace-Loose Play TB), with Gaspar Garcia in the irons, finished third for owner Sarah Huskey and trainer Esteban Rubio.
Shockinglyfamous (One Famous Eagle-
Shocktime TB), Hi High Hopes (Favorite Cartel- Brighterthanthesun), The Kings Horse (Class king-Fleeta Dif TB), Jax Louisiana Game (The Louisiana Cartel- Thunder Got Game), and Dak (Dominyun-Fleet Elis) completed the remaining order of finish.
