Olympia Joe P&A Stakes
JUST WISHN

Sarah Huskey’s Paint Just Wishn ran his win streak to four with a dominating front-running victory in the $24,750 Olympia Joe Stakes for Paints and Appaloosas at Lone Star Park on Dec. 3.
Ridden by Francisco Ramirez Jr., Just Wishn broke on top and took command of the 400-yard test in the early stages. Leading at every call enroute, he maintained a clear advantage through the lane and crossed the finish with a 2-length victory. Just Wishn stopped the timer in :19.746, earning a speed index of 94 in the winning performance. The $10,148 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $113,763. Trained by Esteban Rubio, Just Wishn improved his record to nine wins from 16 outs, with three stakes victories. The 4-year-old gelding captured the Karen Utecht Paint & Appaloosa Stakes on Sept.
24 and then won back-to-back allowance events. He also won the 2020 Colors of the Alamo Futurity. Bred in Texas by Sandra Garnett Tatum, Just Wishn is out of the stakes winning mare Just Splashin. Just like Just Wishn, she also won the Colors of the Alamo Futurity back in 2013.
Secret Livewire APHA (CRM Livewire-Moonlight Who TB) was 2nd under Raul Ramirez Jr. for owner 2LD Farm LLC 7 & trainer Gary Jacobs. JS Runnin Wire APHA (CRM Livewire-Iwilliewantarunner QH) and jockey Jesus Salazar broke out and bumped early and then rallied to finish 3rd for owner/breeder Shirley Wheeler & trainer Dee Keener. Governors Stakes
RK LADY DANA

Kathleen Stumpf’s RK Lady Dana, trial winner & the second-fastest qualifier, earned her first stakes victory in the $144,720 Governor’s Stakes for
2-year-olds at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Oct. 29. Ridden by jockey Francisco Quintero for trainer Tony Cunningham, RK Lady Dana led at every call,
having a 1-length lead at the first call.
The filly defeated fastest qualifier WRS Hava
Dasher by a neck in :17.733, recording a 96 speed index. She banked the $79,596 winner’s share of the purse, boosting her earnings to $103,146.
RK Lady Dana has won her last three races, including breaking her maiden and in the second of four Governor’s Stakes trials on Oct. 8. Raced exclusively in Indiana, the filly has won three of six outs. She has lit the board in every start, her race record stands at 6-3-1-2.
RK Lady Dana is a homebred out of RK Rollin Cartel, a homebred winning mare. RK Lady Dana is her only winner from four starters.
Williams Racing Stables’ WRS Hava Dasher (Apollitical Blood-WRS Kissandteller) banked $28,944 to bring her earnings to $63,242 from seven races. Trainer Randy Smith had jockey Juan D. Marquez in the irons.
Time For A Hero (Apollitical Blood-Jess Valiant) ran third under jockey Cristian Reyes. The gelding pocketed $14,472 for his owner Spencer Tunnell and trainer Natasha Perez. His owner purchased him for $20,000 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale.
Maysa (Coronado Cartel-Dancing Iam) ran fourth and was followed by Southern Fires (Highest Fire-Marys Southernpolicy), Booray (Docs Best Card-Valdarama), KVN Queen (KVN Corona- Reina De Reinas), Louisiana Faster (The Louisiana Cartel-Fabulously Fast) and My Favorite Train (Freighttrain B-Black Veil). The Political Sign was listed as a veterinarian scratch.
QHRAI Derby
HEAD PATRON

Fourth-fastest qualifier Head Patron rolled to a 1 1/2-length victory in the $126,000 QHRAI Derby for 3-year-olds at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Oct. 29.
Head Patron got out of the gate in second under jockey James Flores but managed to get up to a 1-length lead by the first call and he kept gaining until crossing the finish line with a 1 1/2-lengths victory. He covered 400 yards in :19.908, and earned a speed index of 94. The $69,300 winner’s share of the purse boosted his earning to $197,905.
All told, the gelding has won six of 13 starts and has placed second once and placed third twice. This was his third stakes victory in his career, including the Overnight Stakes on Aug. 31. Head Patron ended his 2-year-old season with a 2 1/2-length victory on
a sloppy and sealed track in the $146,000 Governor’s Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis. The gelding has become a horse-for-the-course, as he has won five of his six races over the track.
Trained by Randy Smith for owner Brant Barley. Head Patron was bred in Missouri by Jon and Brant Barley. He is out of the winning mare Dash Leader. She has produced five winners from seven starters.
Scandylous (Hez Our Secret-Favorite Candy) banked the $25,200 runner-up share of the purse for owner Aguila Negra Racing Inc. Trainer Jose Huerta had jockey Roman Cruz in the irons. Fastest qualifier One Night Too Long (Capo De Capi- Devoted Love) ran third under jockey German Rodriguez. The filly is owned by Jeff Wiley and trained by Randy Smith. Kiss Me At Midnight (Kiss My Hocks-Midnight Cartel), Jess Dashingly (Apollitical Blood-My Dashin Corona), Incredible (Corona Cartel-Kitty D Ville), Screenshot (Tres Seis-Shades Of Blues Girl), Hidden Prize (Mr Jess Perry-Rustys Quickid), Hejfund (Ivory James-Jess Shakem), and Tresjetdash (Tres Noches-Laurita Jet Dash) followed. Fabulous Barbara scratched.
