WILDROSES101

Multiple stakes winner Wildroses101 has been unbeatable since April and won his fourth consecutive stakes event with a determined victory
in the $30,000 Mike Hastings Memorial at Turf Paradise on Dec. 10.
Ridden by Martin Osuna, Wildroses101 raced in fourth position early but quickly collared the early leader Fastrak Required and poked his head in front in the lane. He battled bravely to the finish, fending off a late rally from Freighttrain Stew to prevail by a neck at the wire. Wildroses101 covered the 350-yard distance in :17.643, earning a speed index of 98.
The $17,856 winner’s share of the purse raised his earnings to $102,095 for owner Ferrari Racing Stables and trainer Ricardo Saldana. His record now stands at 23-7-9-1. WIldroses101 began his four-race win streak with a victory in the La Gran Espectacular Stakes
on April 23, before rattling off wins in the Curtis Kiekhefer Memorial Stakes on Sept. 5 and then the Wayne Brasher Memorial Stakes on Nov. 19.
Bred in Texas by Bryon Gardner, Wildroses101 is out of the winning mare Weeds In My Roses. She has produced two winners from her three starters.
Runner-up Freighttrain Stew (Freighttrain B-Strawflying Dina) finished second under jockey Raul Valenzuela to secure the place spot for owner Justin Lewis and trainer Matthew Fales.
Fales also saddled third-place finisher Too Sass For You (Favorite Cartel-First Down Sass). The filly is campaigned by Alejandro Ibarra. Jockey Ron Beverly Jr. was in the irons.
Walk To The Top (Walk Thru Fire-Azoom To The Top), Fastrack Required (Walk Thru Fire-No Tools Required), Valentin JQM (Separatist-Corona Perfection), Maximus Fastus (Separate Interest- Sassytacs), Cartels Courage (Coronado Cartel-Tinys Courage), and Arizona Favorite (Favorite Cartel-Check Her for Cash) completed the order of finish.
Classy Sheikh Stakes

One of only two Quarter Horses in a field of eight, Pedro Espinoza’s From Above scored a wire-to-wire victory in the 870-yard Classy Sheikh
Stakes at Turf Paradise on Nov. 25.
Ezequiel Lara rode the 4-year-old gelding for
trainer Jesus Olivas-Valenzuela. From Above’s winning margin was 1 1/4-lengths from Capital Expense TB and he stopped the timer in :45.465, posting a 94 speed index. The $15,035 winner’s share of the $25,000 purse increased his bankroll to $69,218.
From Above was making just his second start in an 870-yard race. Campaigned in two states, including California, the gelding has won six of 25 starts. This was his second stakes victory, including the White Tie Stakes earlier this year.
From Above was bred in California by Dr. Ed Allred, a 13-time AQHA Champion Breeder who was inducted into the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame in 2006. The gelding is out of Celestial Being TB, a homebred winning mare who earned $66,540 in her racing career.Celestial Being has produced 10 winners from 13 starters with earnings of $497,834. She has two stakes winners, including Other World.
Runner-up Capital Expense TB (Scots Pine-Miss Current Sea) earned $4,850 for his owner Michael Loynes and trainer Robert Baze. Jockey Alex Cruz rode the British Columbia-bred 9-year-old gelding.
El Chavo Del Ocho TB (Tannersmyman-My Sis Liz) finished third under jockey Isaias Enriquez, 3-lengths behind From Above. He banked $2,425 for owners Max Franklin and Justin Evans, who also trained the California-bred 7-year-old gelding. Hey Pilgrim TB (EZ Dreamer-Allforyou), Brazen Now TB (Lotsa Mischief-Saint’s Crown), Dusalut TB (Salute The Sarge-Dawnsdu), Master Ruler TB (Overdriven-Way West Dolly), and Highwire Dance (High Rate Of Return-A Day For Dancing) followed. Jazz Hands & Minister Of Soul scratched.

Desert Classic Derby
MISTER BIGG

Mister Bigg made it back-to-back stakes scores with a determined front-running victory in the $25,500 Desert Classic Derby at Turf Paradise on Nov. 12.
Ridden by Mark Jasso, Mister Bigg assumed command of the 350-yard dash at the break, quickly surging clear to a 1/2-length advantage in the early going. He maintained his advantage and repelled a late charge from Heartache Tonite to score by a neck at the finish, stopping the timer in :17.930 and posting a speed index of 90. The $15,178 winner’s share of the purse increased his bankroll to $78,495.
Owned by Diego Creus, who purchased him for $17,000 at the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, Mister Bigg is trained by Heraclio Botelo. The 3-year-old gelding improved his overall record to 14-4-2-3. This was his second stakes victory, and they were consecutive, having won the Arizona Downs Derby at Arizona Downs in August.
Bred in South Dakota by Webb Ranch LLC, Mister Bigg is produced from the multiple graded stakes winning and placed mare Sandys Jesse. She was awarded New Mexico Hi-Point Three-Year-Old Filly in 2013 and she earned $250,529 during her racing career. She has produced one stakes winner from two starters.
