Culturally
Responsive Pedagogy
Culturally Responsive Pedagogy is the act of
using a student-centered approach to
learning. It provides instructional
curriculum that is tailored to the unique
ways that students of different cultural
backgrounds learn and understand. The use
of culturally responsive pedagogy meets
students’ where they are as an individual
being and focused on using the student’s
cultural strength to shape their education.
The implication of the term culturally
responsive teaching is an instructional
method for teachers to step out of their
comfort zones and become a learner. Using
this form of teaching, educators will be
provided with the opportunity to be
immersed in various cultures and learn
about the traditions and customs.
