ADENOMYOMATOSIS
▪ Benign hyperplasia of the gallbladder will result in adenomyomatosis.
– The epithelium and muscular layers of the gallbladder wall have tiny pockets called Rokitansky-Aschoff sinuses.
– These sinuses contain cholesterol crystals that produce comet-tail artifact.
▪ Adenomyomatosis may be focal or diffuse and is clinically silent and insignificant.
