WHY THIS GIFT MATTERS!

Tanzania has a severe shortage of health care professionals. The country has 1 nurse or
midwife per 2,800 persons.
Machame Hospital, located near the base of Mt. Kilamanjaro, has a 40-year history of
training clinic staff. Its School of Nursing began in 2010.
Many students who are both qualified and eager to enter nursing school at Machame
are unable to afford the $1,700 fee for one year’s tuition, room and board.
