WHY THIS GIFT MATTERS!

Spring Creek Prairie is an 850-acre Nebraska
treasure located 15 miles from Lincoln, near
Denton.
A multitude of wildlife species make their homes

in this tall grass prairie, finding spaces to
breed, forage for food, roost and winter safely
in the variety of habitats the preserve provides.
650 acres are native prairie that has never been
plowed.
In recent years, numerous threats resulted in
the decline of many of Nebraska’s bird species.
Conservation of the tall grass prairie is essential
to protecting the birds that rely on it.
Admission to the prairie is free. It’s open from
sunrise to sunset. Visitors can enjoy miles of
walking trails that take them alongside
wetlands, ponds, wildflowers and grasses. The
prairie offers peaceful surroundings and scenic

vistas.
Activities for all ages take place at the prairie
year-round. School groups and summer camps
are hosted frequently.
