WHY THIS GIFT MATTERS!
One out of four senior citizens in Nebraska is experiencing food insecurity.
Tabitha Meals on Wheels volunteers deliver 500 meals each day. 1000 volunteers are
involved each year.
The need is growing, in spite of a 62% increase in deliveries in the last decade.
90% of recipients say the meals provide independence.
82% say the Meals on Wheels volunteer may be their only face-to-face contact each
day.
80% of the recipients cannot afford the cost of a meal.
Deliveries are a well-being check and offer peace of mind.
