SVLAC Futurity
CUZ HEZ MY SECRET

In only two starts, Cuz Hez My Secret has demonstrated gameness. His competitive drive was on full display when he scored the victory in
the $53,245 SVLAC Futurity at Laurel Brown Racetrack on May 29.
Cuz Hez My Secret debuted in his May 15 SVLAC Futurity trial, vying with Moonshot for the lead and losing by just a neck. Moonshot qualified the fastest with a 101 speed index, and Cuz Hez My Secret was the second-fastest quali- fier with a 98 speed index.
Jockey Clay Teeter rode Cuz Hez My Secret in the trials and in final finals.
When the gate opened for the finals, Cuz Hez My Secret bulleted to the front on the lead from the four-gate. He had a head at the top of the stretch and held off all rivals to win by a neck in :15.481 for 300 yards. This time, the gray gelding earned a 102 speed index.

Mark and Fay Annett McCloy bred Cuz Hez My Secret in New Mexico from Cuz Shez Famous, a race winner at Los Alamitos.
The mare has produced three winners from four starters, including Diamond And A Half, a 2016 filly with a 107 speed index and the win-
ner of the 2020 New Mexico Fillies & Mares Championship-RG3 and Balloon City Stakes. Cuz Shez Famous has also produced Mexican stakes winner Cuz My Daddys Famous.
Armando Cervantes piloted Precedentz (One Fabulous Eagel-Bovet) to second place for owner Merlin Sharp and trainer Monty Arrossa. In three previous starts, Precedentz has won twice in the SVLAC Futurity trials and in the Hadley/Giles Futurity trials.
Lazaro Mendoza bred, owns, and trains third- place Storm Dynasty (Jr Dynasty Mountain-Elin). Storm Dynasty won his SVLAC Futurity trial in his racing debut, and Jesus Valenzuela rode him in the trials and in the finals.
Completing the field were Moonshot (Favorite Cartel-Starlite Delight), I Believe In Rose (Fast Prize Cartel-Runner Rose), BNB Lighting McQueen (Coronado Cartel-Optimzye), Chuck (Kiddy Up-Girls Choice), JSG Comin In Hot (Highest Fire-RP Hi Heel Sneakers) and Peg Plunkett (Kiddy Up-Shanachee). Fly To The Beach, PYC Prinseiss, and The Streakin Dream were scratched.
Legacy Coin Maturity
FREIGHT BOSS

Freight Boss added to his record of success in stakes company with his victorious effort in the $24,333 Legacy Coin and David Hinkins
Maturity, held May 29 at Laurel Brown Racetrack in Utah.
Making a sharp break on top from the 8-gate underneath jockey Cordarelton Benn, Freight Boss ran in front the entire way. He held a neck margin throughout the majority of the contest, holding off Staubach to win by a head.
Glade Van Tassell conditions Freight Boss, a gray gelding who finished the race in :17.297 for a 106 speed index. The clocking was close to his career high speed index of 107.
Owned by Jeffrey D. Smith, the four-year-old gelding led at every call of the 350-yard event, notching his fourth win in 11 career starts.
Three of those victories have come in stakes company; she entered black type with a winning effort in the 2019 running of the SVLAC Futurity, followed by a first-place performance in the 2020 Eye On Corona Open Derby at this same track.
Freight Boss made his 2021 debut in the May 16 trials for this maturity. In those, he led in the early stakes but was caught at the wire. He scored the fifth fastest qualifying spot going into the finals.
Vista Equine Colorado LLC bred Freight
Boss out of RW Red Wave, a 2009 mare who logged one victory in 10 starts before becoming a broodmare. She is stakes placed with a third in the Ruidoso Juvenile Invitational.
Staubauch (Texas Icon-Girls Rock), the top qualifier for the stakes final, placed second for owner Gabriel Caballo and trainer Sergio Canales. Jesus Canales drew the riding assignment. Staubach had defeated Freight Boss in the John Ward Handicap, held last October at Los Alamitos.
Fantastic Minion (Fantastic Corona Jr-Gigarad) hit the board in third for Kirk Woolf and Ralph Hartline. The Jay Pitcher trainee had Nakia Ramirez in the irons. The 7-time winner scored in the Western States Breeders’ Futurity.
The remaining order of finish was FDD Swinging Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Jess A Swingin), Ikes R Hero (Mighty B Valiant-RF Carrie Okie), Endless Enchantment (Carters Cartel-Endless Delight), Ican Fix Adrink (Kiddy Up-Queenly Walk), Dash N the Wind (Furyofthewind-Eyes Flashy) and Hotfoot Hero (Valiant Hero-
Endless Delight). Dr Tool, Handsome Cartel & Royallittlewagon were scratched.
Dan Lockie Derby
EYESA SPECIAL DIGGER

One of four finalists trained by Jesse Villegas for owner Broken Bones Cattle Company, second-fastest qualifier Eyesa Special Digger
earned his first career stakes victory in the 300- yard $15,000 Dan Lockie Derby at Miles City, Montana, on May 16.
Eyesa Special Digger earned an 89 speed index while defeating stablemate Eyesa Special Hachet by 3/4-lengths.
David Jimenez rode Eyesa Special Digger, a homebred chestnut son of the Eyesa Special stal- lion Eyesa Special Slim.
Eyesa Special Digger broke on the lead from the 3-hole in the Dan Lockie Derby. He held
a 1/2-length lead at the top of the stretch and pushed to win by 3/4-lengths at the wire. He banked the $7,500 winner’s share of the $15,000 purse with his wire-to-wire performance.
Campaigned in two states - Montana and Wyoming - Eyesa Special Digger has won two of seven outs and has earned $20,835.
His resume includes a third-place finish in last year’s 300-yard $65,745 Rock Springs Wyoming Bred Futurity at Sweetwater Downs, and he was a finalist in last year’s $54,250 Ron Cook Wyoming Bred Futurity at Wyoming Downs.
Eyesa Special Digger was bred in Wyoming, and he is out of Lil Shameless Angel, a homebred daughter of the First Down Dash stallion First N Six. The mare is a 2-time winner and was second in the Wyoming All Breeds Futurity Consolation.
Eyesa Special Hachet (Eyesa Special Slim- Streakin Ruby Red) earned $3,450 to bring his bankroll to $10,280 from four races for Broken Bones Cattle Company. Rick Oliver rode the homebred gelding for trainer Jesse Villegas. Eyesa Special Hachet won his Dan Lockie Derby trial and qualified third fastest.
Broken Bones Cattle Company’s Eyesa Special Rebel (Eyesa Special Slim-Streakin Camilla) finished third behind her stablemates Eyesa Special Digger and Eyesa Special Hatchet. Shance Birdrattler rode the homebred filly for trainer Jesse Villegas.
Eyesa Special Beddy (Eyesa Special Slim- Streakin Beddy Bye) ran fourth and was fol- lowed by fastest qualifier There He Is Gone (Ima Ramblin On-Nd Bunny Jet), Fiftys Delite (Fiftyshadezofgrey-RS Afternoon Delite), Big Sizter (Rex Hill-Six Easy Sisters), and A Dan D (Stel Corona-Jess Baby May).
