Dr. Stu Musick, Superintendent, Navasota ISD
Dr. Musick is a 1990 graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University with
a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education majoring in Kinesiology
and Science. In 1991, he received his Master’s Degree from Sam
Houston State University with a M.Ed. in Kinesiology and a minor in
Administration. Dr. Musick graduated in May, 2015, with his Doctorate
of Education in Educational Leadership through Lamar University.
Dr. Musick is currently in his 28th year as an educator. During those 28 years, he has
served as a teacher, coach, middle school principal, high school principal, and now
as superintendent. During his 17 years in the science classroom, he taught Physics,
Chemistry, Applied Physics, Principles of Technology, and Integrated Physics and
Chemistry (IPC). Along with 14 years of high school coaching experience, he also
coached baseball at the collegiate level for two years at Stephen F. Austin State
University and East Texas Baptist University.
In May of 2009, he was named the principal at Waskom High School. In 2010, Dr.
Musick was selected as one of four high school principals in the state of Texas to serve
on the “Small Schools Committee” for the Texas Association of Secondary School
Principals (TASSP). He has served as superintendent of schools for Oakwood ISD,
Hubbard ISD, and Navasota ISD.
Dr. Musick’s wife Lauren teaches fifth grade math and science in Navasota ISD. The
Musicks have two daughters, Emma (4th grade) and Brennan (1st grade).
Melissa Rangel, Case Manager, Texas Center for the Missing
Since 2012, Melissa Rangel has been the bilingual case manager
for Texas Center for the Missing, the Amber Alert Provider for the
greater Houston Metropolitan area.
Ms. Rangel is on-call 24/7 and handles all non-Amber Alert missing
person cases which includes, runaways, endangered juveniles,
adult or elderly individuals. A missing child is every parent’s worst
