Heba Afifi is a graduate of the German School in
Cairo (Deutsche Evangelische Oberschule). She

obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of
Tourism & Hotel management and a master’s
degree in Islamic Studies. She started her carrier as
a freelance tour guide then worked for 12 years as a
program coordinator at the DAAD. In 2012 she
became the director of the Alexander von
Humboldt Foundation Support Office in Cairo and
since 2015, she has been in charge of TUM Cairo,
which is the liaison office of the Technical
University of Munich (TUM). In her post as TUM

Senior Regional Manager (Egypt) she facilitates
Heba Afifi scientific exchange and intensifies research

cooperation between Egyptian universities and
Liaison Officer
TUM and supports the recruitment of highly
qualified students and scientists.
