                                                     ABSTRACT
In the present contribution, two antibacterial and anti-anxiety drugs
combined in one compound via the synthesis of three mixed-ligand
transition metal complexes. The solid-state complexes were characterized
by analytical, magnetic and spectroscopic tools. The experimental work
was complemented by quantum chemical calculations. The DNA and
protein affinity of the complexes were investigated. Among the
synthesized complexes, copper(II) complex exhibited superior cytotoxicity
against HepG-2. The cytotoxicity of ternary Cu(II) complexes was
compared with the free ligands to get an insight into the role of each ligand
on the toxicity towards the malignant and non-malignant cell lines.
