Step	4:	Do	it	–	see	if	it	works

Finally,	having	made	my	choice,	I	have	to	put	it	into	action,	and	make	sure	it	works.	If	it

seems	to	be	solving	the	problem,	well	done!	If	not,	I	need	to	go	back	to	Step	2	to	try
something	else,	or	even	Step	1	to	make	sure	I	have	understood	the	problem	fully.

So,	these	are	the	four	steps	in	problem-solving:

                        1. Make	sure	you	understand	the	problem

                        2. Look	for	all	possible	solutions

                        3. Choose	the	best	solutions

                        4. Do	it!	And	see	if	it	is	working.

OK?	Now	we	are	ready	to	have	a	look	at	the	fantastic	(and,	of	course,	completely

imaginary)	world	of	animal	thinking.	So,	make	yourself	comfortable	and	read	through

these	ways	of	thinking	about	problems.
