Step 4: Do it – see if it works
Finally, having made my choice, I have to put it into action, and make sure it works. If it
seems to be solving the problem, well done! If not, I need to go back to Step 2 to try
something else, or even Step 1 to make sure I have understood the problem fully.
So, these are the four steps in problem-solving:
1. Make sure you understand the problem
2. Look for all possible solutions
3. Choose the best solutions
4. Do it! And see if it is working.
OK? Now we are ready to have a look at the fantastic (and, of course, completely
imaginary) world of animal thinking. So, make yourself comfortable and read through
these ways of thinking about problems.
