make	it	easier	to	find	a	solution?	Sometimes,	‘taking	a	different	perspective’	like	this	can

                 lead	to	new	solutions.

                 Elephant-thinking

They	say	that	elephants	have	amazingly	long	memories.	I’m	not	sure	what	sort	of	things
they	remember,	but	I	am	sure	that	elephants’	memories	would	have	to	be	better	than

mine!	So,	I	find	it	helps	to	make	notes	of	how	problems	developed.	Think	about	what

happened,	how	it	started.	What	was	it	that	caused	the	problem	in	the	first	place?	By

looking	back	at	its	history,	you	might	find	the	reason	why	the	problem	occurred	-	and
that	might	suggest	a	solution.	Or	you	might	be	able	to	look	even	further	back	to	see	the

‘chain	of	events’	that	led	up	to	the	problem.	Then	that	can	help	you	to	see	where	the

problems	could	go	in	the	future,	and	what	they	could	lead	to,	if	nothing	is	done	about

                 them.

So,	now	that	we	should	be	able	to	understand	the	problem,	and	we	can	start	to	think

                 about	how	to	solve	it.
