The mango growers association of Ifugao who attended the training on off season
mango production of the College of Agriculture and Forestry had adopted the technology
in some portions of their plantation to produce products during off season. Accordingly,
the practice of off season production creates additional opportunity to farm laborers and
increase income for the farmers.
Moreover, farmer adopters on the climate change resilient demo farms improved
physical condition of their farms and increase also their income. The knowledge being
imparted to the participants were applied to their own farms. Challenges were
encountered during establishment that’s why continuous monitoring and assistance were
extended to the farmers.
4. BEST PRACTICES

The best practices being demonstrated in the extension services of the College
of Agriculture and Forestry particularly the BSForestry program are the following:
a. Extension activity cycle are conducted in a participatory manner.
Different stakeholders play important role in the different stages of
extension program, activities, and projects from planning, implementation,
monitoring and evaluation.
b. Extension activities projects and programs are result of TNA through
stakeholders forum.
c. Participants were selected based on the appropriateness of the activity or
program.

Extension and Training Services 2-storey building is situated at the eastern most of
IFSU- Potia, beside the organic dragon fruit research area. Equipment are available for
printing and reproduction such as computer units, and printer. The wide land area of the
campus caters opportunity to the establishment of demonstration projects of the College
