PROOF?
I had no proof, just the many DNA connections that pointed to a DNA relationship between our family and the descendants of Martha Strode and Morgan Bryan, Sr.
Luckily I had my trusty genealogy co-researcher Andrea Stine pointing me in a new direction. Andrea is a very thorough researcher. She was fairly certain that she had seen mention of George Strode of Chester, Pennsylvania (brother to Edward Strode II, and uncle to the Strode orphans) as having a daughter names Margaret.
After more due diligence we were able to confirm that this George Strode was born in Southampton, England and did indeed have a daughter named Margaret.
James Strode Elston, descendant of "my" George Strode of Southampton (1654-1725), has written four volumes of research on the Strode and Stroud families entitled, Strode and Stroud Families in England and America. In Volume I of his research on George Strode of Southampton, the author mistakenly named George’s first two daughters as Ann and Mary. In two subsequent volumes he corrected the mistake (see pages 116 and 117 in the Appendix). The first two daughters were Ann and Margaret.
And so...George Strode had a daughter named Margaret. She was born in Millbrook, Southampton, England in 1682. The date of her death has not been recorded or confirmed.
