3. RULES AT WORK
3.11.a Company Communication Equipment
If you have been issued or have in your care, a company laptop, mobile telephone or any other item of company property, under no circumstances must any such items be left in a vehicle, except where it is locked in an enclosed boot. No items may be left in a vehicle overnight or you will be held personally responsible and should a theft or damage occur, through your neglect or failure to follow this procedure, you will be liable for the property replacement costs.
Company laptops often contain confidential data and as such appropriate care of both the content and the equipment should be taken. A laptop should never be moved or transported until it is properly switched off as this can cause irreparable damage to the hard drive. It is important that all computer equipment is transported using a suitable padded bag.
Failure to take due care and attention with computer or any personal communication equipment (dongles or telephones etc) may result in disciplinary action being taken.
For full information on the above, please refer to the Computer Usage and Social Media policies.
