    4. JOINING THE TEAM
4.1 Essential Information
In the interests of equity, all Thomas Franks people will be expected to provide and sign (where appropriate):
• New starter form attached to the contract of employment,
• Health questionnaire
• Bank details
• P45 or P46
• Satisfactory DBS check (if appropriate)
• A spent convictions declaration (where appropriate)
• Provide evidence of your legal right to work in this country before any
payroll information can be processed.
• Satisfactory references.
You will have been provided with a ’Proof of Your Right to Work ’ guidance sheet at your interview and in your offer letter. Any of the stated documents may be provided to prove your right to work. (Please contact the people and training department or your line manager for a further copy). A photocopy will be taken of the document you produce which will then be held on your personnel file. In order to comply with legislation, we will not be able to employ any person without a legitimate right to work, this includes circumstances where details may have been knowingly falsified. No payments will be made until all necessary documents have been received and verified by the company.
4.2 DBS Checks - Working with Children or Vulnerable Adults
1. Working with Children or vulnerable age-groups will require an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (criminal record) check to be carried out.
2. Unsatisfactory disclosures will result in any employment relationship being reviewed and if necessary, terminated. Our policy with regards to ex offenders is available from the people and training department. Where a potential employee has been in the UK for less than 12 months, a police check must be provided by that indivual from their country or countries of residence over the previous 5 years.
