4. JOINING THE TEAM
4.9 Breaks & Meals on Duty
When at work, we believe reasonable and fair rest breaks are important. Your line manager will advise you of when and where breaks may be taken at work. This will depend on your age if under 18 years, your location and the facilities available. No additional breaks will be permitted specifically for ‘smokers’ as this is deemed to be unfair to others. Your entitlement to meals and refreshments will be detailed by your line manager during your induction.
4.10 Working Time Regulations
We do not expect any Thomas Franks person to work in excess of the maximum 48 hour working week, as specified by the above regulations. If your average number of hours over a 17 week period exceeds 48, you can choose to sign an ‘opt-out’ document. If you do ‘opt-out’ of the restrictions of the 48 hour week, you do not have to remain so. You can give the company three months written notice at any time, to resume your rights and cancel the ‘opt-out’ clause. These rules do not apply to line managers who are expected to have the authority and flexibility to manage their own time and stay within the regulations.
4.11 Personal Information / Change of Details
You have a contractual obligation to ensure your personal information is kept up-to date. This includes changes to your address, telephone numbers, contact details, next of-kin, marital status, name, Job title, bank details, e-mail address etc. Please inform your line manager as soon as possible of any alterations or amendments. They will complete an amendment form and provide you with a copy.
