8. HYGIENE, HEALTH & SAFETY
8.2 Mutual Obligation for Your Safety
Thomas Franks is obliged by law, to take certain measures to look after your Health, Safety and Welfare at work. You too, are under a similar obligation and as a conscientious Thomas Franks person, you must undertake to abide by the following:
1. You are obliged to make use of any appliances or equipment which are supplied for your safety and for which you have been appropriately trained.
2. You should not interfere with, or misuse such appliances/equipment.
3. You should perform no acts or omissions which might endanger yourself or others,
either wilfully or without reasonable cause.
4. You should report all fire & safety hazards immediately to your line manager.
5. You should comply with all safety rules and practices which apply to your role/
duties.
6. You must wholeheartedly co-operate with the company to enable us to comply
with our legal obligations.
8.3 Basic Food Hygiene
All food handlers will be required to hold a ‘Level II Food Safety Certificate’ to work in any food handling capacity. Your line manager will arrange this with you .if you do not already hold one. All supervisors, duty line managers or line managers must hold a Level III Certificate in Supervising Food Safety.
8.4 Hygiene Standards & Practices
As a professional food handler, any breach of the statutory and Company Hygiene Regulations will be treated as Serious Misconduct. Neglect, reckless or wilful disregard or malicious breach, of Statutory or Company Hygiene, Health & Safety Regulations or the Hygiene Policy will be treated as Gross Misconduct – Please ensure you follow these rules or ask your line manager if you are unsure.
