H ow did the results treat you?
We finished in the 90th position overall, but of the
12 Karts Participating from our state we placed
second.
H ow was the environment at the competition?
‘As there was a lot of competition, many teams were
hesitant to help one another. Our fellow statesmen,
being humble and a bit patriotic in their own right, lend a
hand to those to sought it. We also saw a lot of overcom-
pensation in the Karts, as there were no design parameters.
Some of these Karts impressed us, while others just looked
as if they were making up in looks what they lack in
speed.’
W hat are some problems you faced?
The most persisting problem was the one concerning the
Brake mounting system. This was the direct result of our
neglect. We had ignored the braking department from
the very beginning. But through extensive work, we
solved it two weeks before the competition.’
What were the specifications of your Kart?
Engine: 125CC, Stunner engine
Air-cooled, 1 cylinder (5 gears)
Top speed: 70- 75 Kmph
Wheelbase: 45 inches
Socket ratio: 1:1.357 (19:14w)
Rounding up, Mr Srinath appreciated the technical
support their team received from the college and
also emphasised on the point that there being no
financial support much of uninitiated potential was
being wasted. Financial aid was also a persisting
problem in their journey, and they pushed through it
with great difficulty. They hope to see future ventures
gaining financial aid, to an extent from the college
management.
