Gifts for mom and grads can be found at Holy Grounds
Holy Grounds in Aledo is pre- paring for warm weather and late spring occasions by offering a sweet selection of gifts for mothers, gradu- ates and wedding season.
“I’ m about to highlight my Mothers Day gifts, but graduation is also right around the corner,” said owner Judy Wallace, who bought the gift shop side of the store in 2010 and the coffee shop side in 2014.
Holy Grounds (formerly Agapé) offers a wide variety of coffee and tea drinks, as well as unique gifts and a meeting space.
“One of my favorites is our cold brew,” said Wallace. “It’s brewed for 24 hours and served over ice. I had to bring it back early because of our mild winter.”
For cold drink a cionados, Holy Grounds also serves iced lattes, chillers, teas, and fruit chillers. They also serve brewed coffees and espresso drinks, such as lattes and cappuccinos. The tea selection fea- tures Harney & Sons, Tazo tea, and Compassion Tea. All proceeds from Compassion Tea go to medical care for rural villages in Africa. Beans are also available by the bag, and all coffee or tea bar customers get a stamp card that quali es them for a free drink on the 12th visit.
is her bath and body product line, with offerings from Thyme and Glowology. One popular scent from the Thyme collection is Fraser Fir, which is perfect for the holidays.
The meeting space inside the store sees a variety of visitors.
The gift shop offers home decor, jewelry, greeting cards and tons of options for Christian-themed gifts. Of particular interest to Wallace
“I try to really support local artists and authors,” said Wallace. “You’ll always see something here that’s unique to Aledo.”
“We are open 6 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and closed Sunday,” she said. “We even have a drive through. We’d love for folks to visit.”
Wallace also carries books by local authors such as Kristin Bryan, Jan Tonroy and Amanda Thrasher. She also sells the popular “Around Aledo” book, which tells the history of Aledo through photos and stories.
“I have a knitting group, and bible study groups, and mentoring pro- grams that meet here,” said Wallace. “We have free wi , so some people come here just to work.”
Wallace said her shop provides a place for people to come and be part of the Holy Grounds family.
