NHS inducts 201 students
Dr. Larry and Mrs. Debbie Collier of Willow Park are pleased to announce the wedding of their son, Justin David Glenn Collier, to Ayla J. Farris. Ayla is the daughter of Mr. David and Mrs. Michaela Farris of Dallas.
Dr. Ayla Farris is a 2005 grad- uate of West Brook Senior High School, Beaumont, Texas, a Honors graduate from Baylor University, Waco, 2009, and a 2013 gradu- ate from the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, Texas. She is an OB/GYN resident at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Justin Collier graduated Valedictorian in 2005 from Trinity Christian Academy, Willow Park, graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2009 from University of North Texas, and is a 2013 graduate from the University of Texas Medical
A record 201 students were inducted into the Aledo High School chapter of National Honor Society on May 2. NHS prepares students for leadership and lifelong success through the concepts of scholar- ship character service and leader- ship. Receiving the 2016 Honorary Member from Faculty recognition was Mrs. Regina Carlson.

Basil Greer Garrett, 85 of Willow Park, died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family, on April 28, 2017.
in death by his parents, Basil Garrett and Faye Stokes and his sister, Celeste Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Hedwig Garrett; his son, Steven Garrett of Red River, New Mexico; his daughter and son-in-law, Shauna C. and Bill Ward of
Fort Worth; his sister, Connie Howerton; and many nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
Basil was born November 26,
1931 in Kosse, Texas to Basil and
Faye Garrett. He graduated from
Woodrow Wilson high school.
He joined the United States Air
Force shortly thereafter, where he
served during the Korean War. He was an Airman First Class and worked as an elec- tronics technician.
While stationed in Germany, Basil met the love of his life, Hedwig Schober. They were married in Waco, Texas on August 26, 1955. They recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.
After leaving the Air Force Basil went
to school at Baylor University and then to work for the Federal Aviation Administration as an electronics technician and retired from there in 1987. He was active in politics and a member of the John Birch Society. He also loved to garden. He was preceded
