EXEMPLARY CLUB LOCATIONS (Policy No. 500-504) Club Facility Standards
Policy No. 500 – Facility Standards
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale is a place-based youth development organization. The facilities are often a home away from home for our members. The Branches are a representation of the brand as well as a representation of our quality. All branches are expected to strive for excellence in appearance, safety, and cleanliness.
The Branch Director (or his/her designee) should complete a daily walk through of the facility and around the facility to check for any new damage or issues using the Daily Building Checklist document.
Parking lots and all areas outside the Club should be free of trash.
Flags should be removed as soon as any fraying is spotted and changed out when wear is evident. Bulletin boards are changed monthly (except for boards with staff bios but these need to be updated with correct staff).
Hanging Letter-size Flyers and Notices
• Anything staff generated needs to be printed out from a computer – not handwritten.
• Should not be posted directly to surfaces – when possible, should be laminated or at the very
least put in a plastic page protector (with binder holes removed).
• If taped to wall or window, use a non-marking tape that does not show when item is hung.
• Only staff generated and important notices should go on front entry doors.
• Should be removed as soon as they are out of date.
• Should be removed if they are damaged or written on in any way.
Larger Posters
• Preference is to post them within a frame.
• If not within a frame, then with two-sided non-marking tape.
• Should be removed as soon as they are out of date or damaged.
Framed Items
• If the glass or plastic of the frame is damaged or cracked, they should be removed until replaced.
Floor Tape
• Official floor tape only should be used on gym and wood floors – no duct tape, masking tape or other type of tape should be used.
• Official floor tape or blue painters tape only should be used on carpeted floors – no duct tape, masking tape or other type of tape should be used.
• Floor tape on carpeting should be removed after it has been used for its program purpose and no later than two weeks after being put down.
