• Any employee who has a driver’s license revoked or suspended or has been arrested or convicted of a DUI shall immediately notify their supervisor and Human Resources by 9:00 am the next business day. Driving eligibility will be immediately suspended. Failure to do so may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
The operation of BGCS vehicles that transport 30+ passengers requires the driver to maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL). The need for qualified CDL drivers varies by Club depending on how many vehicles are subject to this requirement. The Club will reimburse employees for all costs associated with obtaining and renewing a CDL, such as testing fees, medical certification fees and renewal fees. Additionally, BGCS provides a monetary incentive for staff not currently holding a CDL to obtain one. Non-exempt (hourly) employees may receive an increase in their hourly wage while conducting driving duties and exempt employees may receive an increase in their annual salary up to limits set by the organization based on the current approved salary administration plan. Furthermore, the Club will provide a bonus to employees at the time of license renewal to encourage staff to maintain a valid CDL for the benefit of the organization. Employees who may be interested in obtaining a CDL should first consult their Branch Director to determine the Club’s need as well as understand all personal liabilities that may be associated with holding a CDL. It is preferred that Club positions above a Coordinator not be conducting the primary driving duties.
