VEHICLE SAFETY (Policy No. 600-601) BGCS Vehicle Fleet
Policy No. 600 – Operation of Club Vehicles (signature)
The safety and well-being of our employees and members are of critical importance to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale (BGCS). Therefore, we each have a responsibility to not only protect ourselves when on the road, but also should do our part to protect those around us. Employees that drive a Club-owned vehicle will be expected to follow and abide by the procedures below.
Club vehicles are only for Club business such as transporting members to and from school sites, Club sites and field trips, picking up supplies, and attendance at meetings related to job responsibilities. Any other uses of Club-owned vehicles must be approved in advance by the Chief Operating Officer or CEO.
Motor Vehicle Records
At the time an individual is hired into a driving position, a motor vehicle report will be included in the pre- employment background and drug screening process. If the report is acceptable, the liability insurance carrier will be notified to add such individual to the BGCS driver policy. The insurance carrier will request a motor vehicle record once a year to ensure insurability can be maintained. If a driving record violates the insurance carrier’s regulations, as amended from time to time, the individual will no longer be permitted to drive a Club vehicle. If this situation should occur, an attempt will be made to locate a non- driving position in the same or another location. If no such position is available, it may be necessary to terminate employment. BGCS reserves the right to inspect any employee’s driver’s license or motor vehicle record at any time.
