  STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE
    PROCEDURE:
Reasonable Accommodations Assessment
         SOP REFERENCE #: 106.1
REVISION DATE:
REVISED BY:
  RELATED POLICY:
Policy 106: Disability Inclusion Policy
     OBJECTIVE:
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale strives to serve all youth; however,
the needs of some youth may be beyond the capacity of the Club. It is
important to work with the parent/guardian to ensure the Club can provide a
safe and appropriate environment for their child to receive an optimal club
experience. In the spirit of cooperation, the Club will work to find reasonable
 accommodations for all youth served.
   RESPONSIBLE PARTY:
     PROCEDURAL STEPS:
Branch Director
When a member requires accommodations, the Branch Director must meet
with parent/guardian to ensure the Club has a clear understanding of what is
expected and can meet those expectations. Member enrollment should not
occur until it has been established that the Club can meet the family
expectations of care for their youth. Branch Director is required to inform
COO of accommodations to confirm financial and operational feasibility and
ensure administrative awareness of precedence being set for the
organization. COO will inform HR and CEO and will confirm organization-
wide ability to meet the requested accommodations. If additional training is
required, the Branch Director is responsible for ensuring staff receive the
necessary training to ensure the members safety and support. In the case
where the Club does not have the capacity to meet the accommodation
request, the parent/guardian must be notified immediately to ensure they are
aware of the limitations of the Club. Every attempt must be made to support
the youth in being enrolled in the appropriate program to meet their
recreational and developmental needs. School district, United Way, and
other local organizations may be consulted for guidance in the matter.
Accommodations may not violate Club Policy (i.e. Prohibition of 1:1 contact).
