Sport
Sport is for everyone at Bloxham, with 90% of students experiencing the thrill
of representing their school in competitive fixtures. First-class facilities, expert
coaching and a determined team spirit see us punch above our weight, with many
fine results.
Last year, our Clay Pigeon Shooting Team won four out of the five awards
available at the National Championships and our girls U18 hockey team won the
County Cup. In Rugby, our U15s retained the County Cup and our 7s team made
it through to the semi-final of the NatWest Bowl at Rosslyn Park. Our cricketers
enjoyed a solid season, including a win against the MCC.
We have many talented individuals at Bloxham, with some 40 students playing
at county, regional or national level. Last year, we celebrated Alfie Barbeary’s
achievement in playing rugby for England’s U16 and U17 squads, and Tom Bird’s
success in being selected for the Great Britain Pony Development Squad.
Away from the major sports, we offer riding, sailing, swimming, cross country and
racket sports, including fives, giving every student the opportunity to find a sport
to suit them.
Outdoor Education
CCF cadets of all ages enjoyed a series of challenging training exercises in an
exciting year which included their Biennial General Inspection, conducted
by Brigadier Bill Wright.
Lower School students showed great courage and determination
during their trip to the French Alps, cycling, rafting and climbing
through this beautiful region, mastering new skills along the Pupils reach
way, along with a weekly outdoor education programme
