Code of Conduct
We all have a responsibility to behave ethically in our roles. When you started with Synovum Care you received a Team
Handbook including the Code of Conduct which clearly explains the organisation’s expectations and your responsibilities as
a Synovum Care Employee. I encourage you all to revisit this document on the EMS and speak to your Operations Manager is
there’s anything you’re unsure about. In particular, I wanted to remind you of the responsibility we all have to report
potential conflicts of interest when working with vulnerable older people. In addition to this, it is important to remember
that, at Synovum Care, team members are not permitted to accept individual gifts even those that may come by way of a
resident’s will.
Changes to Nursing Professional Code of Conduct
Still on the topic of Codes of Conduct, just a reminder that it is the responsibility of each RN, EEN and EN to make sure they
are aware of, and up to date with, the recent changes in their profession. For an update please refer to
www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au .
Wrap up
I hope you enjoy the Synovum Care magazine and find it a good resource of keeping up to date with what’s happening in
the organisation. We are in an exciting phase of growth and change, both in the industry and in our organisation. While
exciting, growth and change can be challenging and unsettling - and not always smooth sailing! I’m confident that living
the values and being persistent with the vision will support each and every one of us to make the vision a reality.
