SAMANTHA THE DOG Sasha Knight, 9
Samantha was a big, brown dog. She was very kind, and her best friend was Sasha, where she lived. They would play together in the garden. When Sasha was at school, Samantha would miss her terribly, and wait for her to come back.

One night, when Sasha and her parents were asleep, a thief crept into their house. He took Sasha’s favourite laptop, and a few other things. As he was climbing out of the window, Samantha spotted him. She started barking very loudly, which awoke Sasha and her parents.
When they came outside, they saw Samantha chasing the thief around the garden. Samantha jumped forward and bit the thief’s leg. He screamed in pain, and fell to the floor.
“HELP ME! I’M SORRY” he shouted.
Sasha ran towards Samantha and held her down. She asked her to leave the thief alone. The thief asked Sasha and her parents to forgive him. Seeing his eyes full of tears Sasha felt very bad for him, and she too asked her parents to forgive him. He promised to never steal again.
Sasha gave Samantha a big hug and thanked her for her bravery. She was given a big bone to chew on, and she was very happy that she helped Sasha, her best friend.
Samantha alikuwa mbwa mkubwa, wa rangi ya kahawia. Alikuwa mkarimu, na rafiki wake wa dhati alikuwa anaitwa Sasha, alipokuwa akiishi. Walipenda kucheza pamoja kwenye bustani. Sasha akiwa shuleni, Samantha alikuwa anamkosa sana, na angemngoja arudi nyumbani.
Usiku moja, Sasha na wazazi wake wakiwa usingizini, mwizi alinyemelea nyumba yao. Aliiba tarakilishi aliyoipenda sana Sasha na vitu vingine pia. Alipokuwa anahepa kupitia dirisha, Samantha alimuona. Alianza kubweka kwa nguvu sana, akawaamsha Sasha na wazazi wake.
Walipotoka nje, walimuona Samantha akimfukuza mwizi kwenye bustani yao. Samantha aliruka na akamuuma mwizi mguuni. Alilia kwa maumivu, akaanguka sakafuni.
“NISAIDIENI! NAOMBA MSAMAHA”, alilia.
Sasha alimkimbilia Samantha akamshikilia. Akamwambia amuache mwizi. Mwizi aliwaomba Sasha na wazazi wake wamsamehe. Alipoona macho yake yamejaa machozi, Sasha alimhurumia, naye pia akawaomba wazazi wake wamsamehe mwizi. Mwizi aliahidi hatawahi iba tena.
Alimkumbatia Samantha na akamshukuru kwa ujasiri wake. Samantha alipewa mfupa mkubwa atafune, na akawa na furaha sana kwa kuwa aliweza msaidia Sasha, rafiki wake wa dhati.
