HIGH TORQUE TOOL
The High Torque Tool is a hydraulically powered
subsea torque tool capable of developing up to 2,000
Nm of torque at a maximum speed of 10 rpm. As
standard the Torque Tool comes with a Nose Cone
capable of interfacing with the API 17H-2004 Rotary
(High Torque) or ISO 13628-8 Fig 14-2008 Valve Stems
and Buckets.
As standard practice the tool is operated with a torque tool control system
that is used to set and control the speed and the maximum output force of
the tool. A verification unit is utilised for the calibration of the tool. Rear View of the tool
Hydraulic Power is fed into a Hydraulic Motor which engages a Reduction
Gearbox inside the tool and outputs torque through the Drive Socket. The
Reduction Gearbox incorporates a Torque Transducer that measures the
torque output of the Tool and outputs as a mV/V signal that can be read by
the control system. Built into the Tool is a turns counter that can also be
read by the control system.
As standard the tool is used with a torque tool control system and
verification unit which can automatically self-calibrate the tool and confirm
is still within calibration limits.
