protagonist politicians are quick to attack anyone who

encroaches on their fiefdoms by having the audacity to
seek ways to remediate the conditions that are plaguing
            their citizens.

Therefore, to understand the true reality of the “politics

of race” that prevails today, one must understand that it
is not always driven by a quest to find solutions; rather

too often, it is driven by quest to seize totalitarian
            power.

            This raises an important question.

When and how did healing the human condition derail?
As we discussed in Chapter 3, the bipartisan appeal of

the ministry of Martin Luther King Jr., produced many
pivotal advances in Civil Rights. Since then, relatively

little has been accomplished. The tragic loss of Dr. King
left America seeking another leader with vision to lead
the nation forward to achieve true and just healing from

its scars of “racial strife”. Sadly, the assassination of Dr.

King marked the point when the noble desire for healing
the human condition began to derail? It is not a
coincidence, that this time also set the transition of

bipartisan cooperation into partisan efforts to establish
political dominance through leveraging “racial” strife.
