Chapter 7: Facts vs Biblical Truths

There is a plethora of inspired deliberations on the

differences and validity of facts versus truth. From a
secular perspective, many intellectuals may argue that

facts are indisputable, unchangeable, solid, and
therefore reliable. In their post-modern view, truth is
fleeting and relative to the individual. Truth is often

perceived as changeable, subject to emotions and
            feelings, and unverifiable.

Within the confines of our limited human intellect, this

position carries merit. However, this view does not allow
for the existence of what we shall term as “Absolute

Truth”. Neither can it allow for this, because … people
who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from

GOD’s SPIRIT. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t
understand it, for only those who are SPIRITUAL can
understand what the SPIRIT means (1Corinthians 2:14).

Certainly, fact and truth are not always the same thing.

In the article entitled, Truth vs Facts, The Search for
Meaning in Life, by Waitsel Smith, the author explains,

“The ancients knew this. JESUS knew it. As a matter of
fact, everyone knew it up until the last century or two.

You can be as factual as you like, and still be lying; and
you can create a wonderful work of fiction, and still be

telling the truth. Truth is something which cannot be
