the allied objective. General George S. Patton, probably

the most effective combat general of the Allied forces
was the center of an elaborate deception. A fictitious
army was built around him opposite the Pas de Calais in

Northern France. The intent was to divert Nazi
attention away from Normandy. It was remarkably

            effective.

These were the facts; the most effective Allied combat
general was positioned across the channel from the Pas

de Calais and in command of the First Army Group.
There were thousands of men assigned to the First Army

Group, with hundreds of “dummy” combat and support
vehicles. To top it off, there was a tremendous amount
of radio traffic. All the facts pointed to an Allied invasion

at the Pas de Calais led by General Patton…but it was

            not the truth.

Example 2: The Jaguar XK 120 and 140 is a beautiful

blend of art and machine. Its classic styling is
unmistakable and its race history legendary. But the

expensive price tag of ownership for an original can be
prohibitive. So, understandably, many have opted for

replica kit cars. The fact is, they look just like the
originals, and can be indistinguishable to the untrained

eye. Yet, as beautiful as they are, in truth, they are not
            the original.
