racist according to the above definition. Additionally,
black people still hold the power of the vote and the
purse both collectively and individually. This power can
be used to discriminate against other people groups in
many ways. For example, one may choose to shop at a
black owned store versus a white or Asian owned
establishment. But all this pales in comparison to the
real issue. The truth is, racism is a heart problem, not a
secular problem. It breeds enmity, anger, hatred, strife,
and dissensions against others based on skin color, or
ethnicity. It transcends any social, economic, political, or
academic construct. It is indeed sin! The truth is,
anyone that hates his fellow man because of skin color
or ethnicity is, in his heart - a racist. 1 John 3:15 warns,
Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you
know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 1
John 2:11 also warns, but whoever hates his brother is in
the darkness and walks in the darkness, and does not
know where he is going, because the darkness has
blinded his eyes. Proverbs 10:11 confirms that, hatred
stirs up strife, but love covers all offenses.
Fact – Black people do not possess power: It is a fact in
history that power in its many permutations has largely
been confined to the domain of the majority. It is also a
historical fact that minority groups do not possess the
same degree of power; therefore, they are at a
