to them were not for you. You had nothing in this world

to hope for. You were without GOD. Here the Apostle is
addressing the Gentiles. Jews considered Gentiles to be
unclean heathens with whom they would have no

association. Jews felt they were superior. Does this
sound familiar? Even worse, the Gentiles were far away

from GOD and were not partakers of HIS blessings and
promises. They were a people without hope? Does this

sound familiar?

Reconciliation back to THE GREAT I AM

But now we belong to CHRIST JESUS. At one time we
were far away from GOD. Now we have been brought

close to HIM. CHRIST did this for us when HE gave HIS

blood on the cross. We have peace because of CHRIST
(verses 13-14). The inexplicable love GOD has for us all

was demonstrated by the willing sacrifice of HIS SON
JESUS. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down

one’s life for one’s friends (John 15:13). Our CREATOR so
desired to be in relationship with us all, that HE made a

way to cancel out our sin debts, so that we can be
reunited – reconciled - to HIM.

That’s what JESUS did. The Gulf between GOD and

human beings is far greater than the distance between
humans and birds, yet HIS Grace spanned the great
