Based on the Olivet discourse, virtually all prophecy
scholars of our time agree that the final generation that
CHRIST spoke of . . . is likely already alive today. The
question is, “What specific event(s) were or will be the
trigger point for this last generation?”

What event(s) will trigger the last generation? Clearly,
while we cannot know the day nor the hour that CHRIST
will return, GOD wants us to know the season that

marks the last generation (Matthew 24:36, Mark 13:32).
This season is a prelude to CHRIST returning.

Virtually all prophecy scholars believe we are already
well into that greening and blossoming season. So, when

did this season begin, and what event marked the final
generation? There are a number of significant fulfillment
events that could be the trigger event for this last
generation. Let’s consider each possible event!

The Significance of the 1917 Balfour Declaration
This declaration was a simple letter which Lord Balfour
issued November 2, 1917 – approximately one year
before the close of World War I. It affirmed that the
British government favored creating a national home for
the Jewish people in the territory that was then called
Palestine. It further affirmed that Britain would use their
best endeavors to facilitate the achievement of this

objective. Balfour’s declaration set the stage for
negotiations that culminated with the 1923 Treaty of
Lausanne. This treaty repartitioned lands that had once
been absorbed into the Ottoman Empire back according
to former nations; Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria.
