[Jer.12:14-17] Jeremiah’s Prophecy foretells three
distinct proclamations from GOD; two of which have
already been fulfilled with a third remaining. A review
of history shows that two fulfillment events of this
prophecy manifested during the Ottoman Empire era

that followed the Roman-Byzantine era (330-1453 AD).
The Ottoman Empire existed over the time span from
1453-1923AD, nearly 470 years. Two of Jeremiah’s
prophecies were fulfilled with distinct historical events
involving this empire.

The first event occurred as this empire was at the peak
of its power. To understand this key prophetic event,
consider that during the Ottoman period the lands of
Israel lay desolate. In this prophecy, Jeremiah 12:14,
GOD said ““Against all MY evil neighbors who touch the
inheritance which I have caused MY people Israel to
inherit—behold, I will pluck them out of their land and

pluck out the house of Judah from among them.” These
evil neighbors included people from the nations of
Egypt, Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria who had
coveted Judean lands, which were home to both Arabs
and Jews. Thus, GOD used Ottoman to carry out HIS
plan. HE plucked these lands and they were absorbed

into Ottoman boundaries during the peak of its power.

The second prophetic event that Jeremiah foretold was
fulfilled by the defeat of the Ottoman Empire (World
War I, 1917). GOD had told Jeremiah, “Then it shall be,

after I have plucked them out, that I will return and have
compassion on them and bring them back, everyone to
his heritage and everyone to his land”, Jeremiah 12:15.
