Moses foretold the final scattering of the Jews
[Deut. 28:64-68] “Then the Lord will scatter you among
all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other.”
Fulfilled by the Romans (70 AD)
Next, Moses foretold Israel’s final fall and scattering
(Deut. 28:64-68). CHRIST affirmed these prophecies
when HE spoke of Jerusalem’s complete destruction
(Mat. 24:1-2) and the scattering of HIS sheep (Mat.
26:31). These prophecies were fulfilled by the Romans
in 70AD.
Moses foretold the desolations to come onto the lands.
[Deut. 29:18-21, Mat. 21:18-22, Mark 11:12-14, 20-24]
Israel will become a desolate wasteland. This prophecy
was fulfilled after the 70 AD scattering; the lands of
Israel fell into a barren wasteland and remained in
desolation for more than 1800 years.
Moses concluded his farewell to the Jews of Israel with
two prophecies. First, he foretold the subsequent
desolation that would come upon the lands of Israel
after the Jews were scattered (Deut. 29:20-21). CHRIST
also affirmed Moses’ prophecy of the land’s future
desolation when he touched the barren fig tree (Israel);
it immediately withered (Mat. 21:18-20), a prophetic
symbol of desolation. After the destruction that the
Romans inflicted on Israel, the Jews were scattered,
across all parts of the world, circa 70 AD. During the
nearly 1800 years while Jews were scattered, the lands
withered into a wasteland of desolation.
