AUCSO Chairman wins Global Award

AUCSO Chairman, Les Allan has won the
International Leader of the Year Award at the
awards event at INTERSEC EXPO conference in
Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Wednesday 18th
January.

This is the first time that this award has been won
by someone in Education Security and showcases
the work done by AUCSO Members globally.

Les said “I am absolutely thrilled to receive such a
prestigious award; I am very grateful for this and
for all the wonderful support I have received from
all of my friends and AUCSO colleagues and the
wider security industry. I see this as not only an
award for me personally but also for recognition of
AUCSO and Tertiary Education Security worldwide as significant contributors to global
security”.

Sophie Bimson wins National Award

in honour of Dave Clark

Sophie Bimson, the UCL Crime Prevention and
Personal Safety Advisor was this year’s recipient of
the Dave Clark Initiative Award (sponsored by the
UK Security Commonwealth). The Dave Clark
Awards, now in its second year is given in memory
of the late ASIS UK chairman, who was also an
AUCSO member.
The winning initiative was for Sophie's partnership
work with the UCL
Department of
Security and Crime
Science in keeping
students safe from
crime (physical and
cyber) including
Sexual Assaults,
VAWG, Gender
Based Violence and Hate Crime.
